Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the mathematical literacy skills of prospective mathematics teachers at Universitas Kristen Tentena. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involves students from the mathematics education program who have completed basic mathematics courses. Data were collected through a mathematical literacy test based on the PISA framework and semi-structured interviews. The results show that the mathematical literacy skills of students are generally in the moderate category, with an average score of 62.3 out of 100. Students demonstrated good ability in applying mathematical procedures but faced difficulties in formulating real-world problems into mathematical forms and interpreting solutions. The conclusion of this study indicates the need for a transformation in teaching approaches that emphasize contextual and reflective problem-solving processes, as well as the integration of contextual problems and mathematical modeling exercises into the curriculum for prospective teachers.
